Stand up.
Hard truth in a time of fluffy bullshit:
Nobody is required to care about you, and the more care you require, the more likely they are to stop. This goes double if you're a grown man.
You're going to have to care about you. You're going to have to do what you need done. You're going to have to supply your own needs, bandage your own wounds, keep standing up.
Just standing up, but not just for yourself - there's not much more room for selfish people. Standing for what? Well, I'd use words for it, but half of those words are already stained with blood and the other half with grease.
You know what I mean, though. Union. Compassion. Kindness. Patience. Goodness, for goodness' sake. God, for God's sake, but not the kind of God who judges and kicks people away.
Just standing up.
Look, if you had made as many depressive mistakes as I have, you'd be lonely, too. If you'd been the de facto king of town a couple of times, as I have, you'd be embittered by the loss and the lack of the crown as I am.
There will always be disrespect available for purchase, or for free. No point in buying any - the disrespectful don't know what respect is in the first place, half the time; the other half, you don't.
How many of us spend most of our time staring at a bright-lit screen and getting absolutely nothing of any worth accomplished?
How many of us don't even know what's on the front of our faces?
Do you know what kind of expression you're making right now?
